Downtown Sound Sessions.
In Lightnin’s words, “We’re workin’ on some next level shit.”

We’ve been really gettin’ busy working on some new tunes recently. We had some sessions in Boyle Heights to get things cohesive and taking interesting direction with some of the new material. I have trouble explaining it exactly, sometimes when you’re so close to something it’s hard to wrap your head around it. I like it though, that much I can say for sure. We also wrote something a bit more inspired from Sabbath which is always a good thing.
With the songs worked out we had the opportunity to record at Downtown Sound, home of Rebel Music TV in the heart of dtla between the Redwood, the Smell, and the Down & Out. Keepin’ it in the neighborhood so to speak. The vibe in there is kinda old and dark. Perfect for conjuring some evil and aggressive tones. We dialed in the drums which we’re pretty hellacious. Problems left and right, with the condition of my aging Pacific deteriorating, but ended up in a good place.
After a long night on our next session I nailed down all of the new tracks. I’m really happy with how everything came together pretty quickly and I’m excited to hear the final product.
